Tires Can Age Without the Miles
The typical mileage driven each can be anywhere from 15,000 to 30,000km per year. With that being said, you can expect to change your tires every three to four years. For those who drive less than the average annual mileage, aging tires can become an issue. Regardless of the tire tread life, aging tires can be dangerous and in some cases have lead to fatal car accidents. This was due to the unexpected tread separation from the tires compound deteriorating.
